A shaft from the 18th century that was probably originally a ventilation but was then repurposed as a hauling shaft.

The shaft but was video recorded and laser scanned by the Oxford Archaeology Project (Willies et al 2011) but is is now lost under Firs Field.

Alternative Names: None recorded.

Notes: Willies et all (2011) conseidered that the shaft probably dates to the time of Ralph Allen quarrying at Combe Down. It is associated with a line of shaft includin Firs Shafts B1 and B2 on an approximate northwest-southeast alignment between Firs Shaft and the Ivy House entrance from Jones Quarry.
