Little is known of this shaft. Its location is shown on a plan provided by Cornwall Consultants for a property search at a nearby house. Willies et al observed the structure from 8m away and recorded that it was probably a walled off well.
Google Earth suggests that it is now lost as it is built over by the Gort-na-Crane house.
Alternative Names: Combe Down Quarries, Combe Down Quarry, Firs Quarry, Firs Mine, 5115
Notes: Combe Down Quarry is the collective name for a collection of quarries including Firs Quarry, Byfield Mine, Allotments Quarry, Coxe's Quarry and more, which started life as separate workings but gradually merged into one giant network covering more than 10 hectares.
