A legendary 'lost' cave, described in a letter penned by Rev. David Williams to John Rutter in 1829. Several contenders have been put forward over the years, including Mangle Hole, Triple Hole, the Second Crossroads in Sandford Levvy and a group of mines located on the summit of the hill. There are even suggestions that the lost cave may not exist at all and that the term 'gulph', is merely a term used by miners for a large body of ore.
Alternate Names: None recorded.
Notes: A great Gulf, where a man was lowered his lights touched neither sides or floor. When being lowered to 10 fathoms and not reaching the floor called to be pulled up.
