Shaft 120 (also known as Saville Row Shaft No.4), is a superb square-sided shaft, 23m deep, which intersects a mined gallery some 10m down. Originally almost 40m deep, a second 20m long side gallery is now buried beneath the debris cone at the bottom of the shaft.
Alternate Names: Saville Row Shaft No.4, MNRC-4, SSSS-43-H
Notes: The shaft was descended in October 2016 and entry was made into the lower passage and "loose walling" section shown on Jenkins' 1959
survey (except for the distances the detail is very good) - the bottom is
only about 85ft below the surface, not 122ft, as claimed in the 1950s.
