Victor Painter (1906-2000) in his memoirs refers to a "spring of lovely fresh water" opposite the cottages at the top of Wormcliff Lane. It stated that it was one of the best freshwater springs in the village with an always reliable supply.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: It is understood that the water from the spring ran downhill to feed a small pond in a nearby field. The pond is shown on various old maps.
