Niblett (1981) in 'Memories of Bradford on Avon' reports that he was told of a small Fullers Earth Mine situated between the top of New Road and Whitehill. Fuller's Earth mines are notoriously prone to collapse and its location is now lost.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: Fuller's Earth has probably been worked in the area since Roman times and was used for cleansing (or fulling) woollen cloth. Nothing is known of this underground working unfortunately and the approximate location was taken from an MRO map.
