Little is known of this quarry in the grounds of Prior Park College. Addison (1998) states that it was probably first worked around 1840 to provide building stone for a gymnasium for the students of Prior Park College. He continues that in 1994, the derelict gymnasium was restored and now serves as the college theatre.

The quarry is understood to have been comprehensively infilled. Consequently, the location is vague. The NGR provided by Addison (1998) shows a nearby quarry on the large scale Victorian Ordnance Survey maps and this has been used for the registry.

Alternative Names: Gym Quarry

Notes: In 1819, P Egan wrote: 'in a small quarry in repassing the grounds of Prior Park some of the pieces of stone measure twelve and a half feet long by three feet ten inches wide'.
