|NGR:||ST 95195 70922|
The rising is shown on Victorian large scale maps labelled as a fountain. It is contained within a small structure with a wood and slate conical roof, opposite the old Primitive Methodist chapel.
Alternate Names: None recorded.
Notes: The roof lintel has the following verse:
Here quench your thirst and make in me
An emblem of true charity,
Who why my bounty bestow,
Am neither heard nor seen to flow.
Repaid by fresh supplies from Heaven,
For every cup of water give.
In July 1971, it was reported that it was unknown when the well, as it is locally known, last had water in it.
