There are several large open quarry workings on Bannerdown Common with one well-blocked entrance at the southern edge of the Bannerdown plateau.
Alternative Names: Bond's Quarries, Bonds Quarries
Notes: Historical records refer to these quarries as Bond's Quarries on Bannerdown. It is understood that the quarries were in use as late as the 1920s providing local building stone.
