This spring has a very low flow of water that has been described a "murky and unappealing." It has been described by some as a holy well but there are no known saints associated with it.

Alternative Names: None recorded.

Notes: Conkwell has existed since at least Saxon times and this well will have provided drinking water and a place for washing clothes. During the English Civil War, it is reported that Oliver Cromwell rested here between battles. His soldiers are said to have poisoned all of the wells in the area except for this one.
