This is shown as a "Trial Shaft" on the 1923 OS map, close to Boyd's farm. However, the site now appears to be an emergency exit from the Eastlay's underground wine store. It was originally protectd by two concrete pillbox emplacements either side of the shaft entrance.

Notes: Octavian Wine havwe used the quarry since 1970.
