Part of Monkton Farleigh/ Farleigh Down Quarry. Slope Shaft - blocked at present (Scammell, May 98). New slope shaft sunk in six weeks in 1941 by War Department. Lined with concrete. Bought by EMF Farming Associates in 1975.
