A stream, which rises from Ellick Springs (ST 4922 5731) on the north-east flank of Black Down, sinks in a large wet area of the valley floor. It was dug inconclusively by BEC circa 1956. MKHP tested the stream to Rickford Rising (4 hours) and Langford Risings (4 hours) in 1968. The stream may be the one seen in the lower reaches of Lionel's Hole.
