A 27m deep rectangular shaft (2.4m x 1.8m), built of dressed stones, leads to a sump. 12m from the surface 36m South level and a 43m West level both of which end in a choke and have "old mans workings" leading off them.

Notes: Up lane from A38 to Winterhead Farm. Go up footpath from gate for 150m. Shaft is behind a collapsed dry stone wall. Dug mainly by Cliff Dockrell (ACG) between 1987 and 1991. Cave entrance is locked.
