 +These 5 sequences were shot in 8mm cine by Maurice Hewins. The commentary was later made by Maurice Hewins in 2006.

 +The opening sequence was taken at G.B. on 8-6-68. The locations were: The blockhouse, entrance passage, Mud Passage and on the Balcony. The cavers were Mike Dewdeny York (with beard) and John Thomas. The film was black and white Perutz 400? and the lighting was a Kine-Bauer  BL 1 commercial  lighting set.

 +The next sequence was taken during Dave Drew’s water tracing project to test the Mendip sinks to their risings, using licopodium spores. It was shot at Easter 1968 at Banwell . Film and lighting as above. The cavers were: Pete Cousins  (with helmet), Jim Hanwell, (with black hair) and Judy Hewins.

 +Third sequence.  Black and white shots of Wessex dig at Hillgrove Swallet 1968. The ruined Hillgrove Sanatorium can be seen, and the underground sequence was taken with the Bauer light and the film was Perutz 400. The diggers were John Cornwell (looking up the shaft) and Titch Thompson (underground).

 +**Horseshoes with Rings - A Study of Bats in Devon Caves 1958**

 +This was one of two very similar films made by John Hooper, showing pioneering work studying bats in Devon Caves. It was shot at 16 f.p.s and the other films, “Rings on Their Wings” was shot at 24  f.p.s. Filmed between 23/7/1957 and 6/12/1958.

 +The locations were ;- Virtuous Lady Mine, (Tavy Valley), Rock House Cave, Rift Cave, Reeds Cave Buckfastleigh, Underground stone quarry tunnels at Beer, roof of Hawson Court (Buckfastleigh), Roof of barn in Rock House Quarry (Buckfastleigh).

 +**Swildon's Hole – 1964**
 +
 +This film was made on six trips to the cave in 1963-4. It was shot on 8mm Kodachrome IIA film using two 25 volt airfield spotlights powered by two banks of four motorcycle batteries and a commercial Baur lighting set. The original sound track was made on a tape recorder, synchronized to the projector. Although this tape was lost, Keith O’Mahony’s commentary survived and it has been supplemented by sounds recorded in Swildons.

 +This comedy film was made by John Hooper between 21/4/1957 and 15/3/1958. It was alternately known as Hooper’s Squire. It portrays Wilfred Joint in the role of Ebenzer Greywacke, Squire of Penn Recca.

 +Locations were: Church Hill, Buckfastleigh, Baker’s Pit Quarry Buckfastleigh, (before it was filled in)  and Bakers Pit Cave (using the original entrance).

The opening subject was filmed at the Hillgrove Hut on three separate occasions. (The first two by Maurice Hewins and those of George Pointing and the fox by Tony Dingle.)

 +**Lamb Leer Cavern - 1937**
 +
 +This film was made by a team of UBSS and Wessex cavers in time for the 1937 B.C.A conference in Bristol. The cameraman was Prof Edgar Tratman. Captions by Chris Howes help with the explanation. The film shows the caving techniques of the day using candles etc and there are good shots of the aerial cableway across the main chamber. The filming lights were paraffin Tilly lamps. Cavers identified include J.F.Blenkinsop, John Bell, Francis Goddard and Molly Hall.

 +There were three slightly different versions of this film and this is a slightly edited version to include as many shots as possible of the cableway.

 +This film was made on 16mm H.P.S. negative cine film in 1960-61. The commentary is by Dr Oliver Lloyd. The opening shots show Albert Maine closing the gate at Manor Farm.  It also shows Oliver Lloyd. People at the Bedminster swimming pool that Phil Davies identified were David Willis (he victim), Brenda Willis, Alan Rogers, Phil Davies and Howard Kenney (not in the water.)

 +At the sump, Phil Davies named Alan Rogers, Struan Robertson (eating), Mike Holland (pulling rope and Phil Davies (watching pressure gauge).  Mick Glenister is the second man out of the entrance at the end.
